Festival Catch Ups: Pompey in the Community + The GSR
Sign up for the Great South Run and raise funds for Pompey in the Community
There was an amazing team of runners last year taking part in the Great South Run around Portsmouth and Southsea, fundraising for Pompey in the Community. They raised over £2500 between them!
A bonus £100+ came from one of the Pompey in the Community Development Squad participants, Bradley Whitlock, who took it upon himself to run the 5km and donate his sponsorship money to PitC. He’s also doing the same again this year, and encouraging his whole team to join him! His enthusiasm is inspiring.
Pompey in the Community won the EFL Checkatrade Community Club of the Year Award for 2016/17 and works with thousands of children and adults in the Portsmouth and surrounding areas every week. Whether it’s the 10 miles, the 5k, 2.5k or 1.5k, it would be fantastic to see as many adults and youngsters as possible doing the run in a Pompey in the Community running top!
PitC are encouraging as many adults and children to sign up as possible. If you don’t fancy the 10 mile run (16 years and older on Sunday 22nd October), there’s the 5K (14 years +), Junior 2.5K (9-15 years) or Mini 1.5K (3-8 years) on Saturday 21st October.
You will need to register independently at www.greatrun.org/great-south-run and then let the Great South Run Team Coordinator, Tash Stephens, know that you are running on behalf of PitC. She will then include you in all the PitC team information and arrangements.
